Various working groups around a company or organization face common
problems and have common experiences. However, these groups are spread
across geographic regions or business units.
Solution:
Traction project spaces
provide an ideal platform for sharing experiences, lessons learned, and
information related to a certain subject of interest.
Representatives
from various groups can share a space to share experience, knowledge,
and expertise. Traction makes it possible to link and organize these
learnings, laying the groundwork to promote, comment on, and leverage
best practices as well as identify and interact directly with experts.
In a wider Traction deployment, a program team might flag relevant
content from their own workspace to the Community of Practice
workspace, as such, feeding the best practices project does not require
additional work or focused effort.
See the IJIS
case study for a great example of an organization with 16 committees.
